For me, drawing is about noticing things, and communicating what I notice.
I draw and illustrate when I can - a combination of direct observation, memory and my imagination. I generally work in pen and ink but also printmaking and painting too. There is often a narrative thread within my work, it has to be about something. I like to create a sense of the unusual, a space where humor, pathos and tenderness can mingle.
I live in Frome, Somerset. Since doing a Masters in Sequential Illustration in 2007 at Brighton University, I've been making art and working as a full time community artist teaching groups of children, adults, elderly people and people with learning disabilities. I love it all.
